Moving Image Inspiration
When planning the elements of our forthcoming opening title sequence, Unvirtuous, we want to create an opening title sequence which is not completely unique. We as a group want to create an opening title sequence that doesn't only show individualism but pays homage to those opening title sequences that have inspired us in the planning of our own. Top opening title sequences from the 5 "Final Destination" series as well as "Scream" are they types of sequences in which we would want to pay homage to and follow in terms of the type of images as well as the portrayal of characters, below are those opening title sequences to allow for us as a group to see what we would want to follow.

Final Destination 5
The above 5 sequences make up the 5 films in the "Final Destination" series, these all have a unique way in which they present the titles to the audience. Using still images as well as animated graphics, these opening title sequences allow for a new perspective upon horror opening title sequences as they prove a concept that would otherwise be reserved for other genres of horror. If this style of opening title sequence is done right it can show a plot within the film in a under exposed way as well as giving an otherwise simple opening title sequence a eeriness and fear about the sequence. The "Final Destination" opening title sequences are ones which challenge conventions of horror opening title sequences which is what we as a group want to do with out opening title sequence, Unvirtuous. Within these sequences, we enjoy the ways in which graphics are used to simulate death and suggest death without showing it upon screen, this is something we as a group would like to emulate within out opening title sequence, secondly it is important for us to pay homage to the use of a weapon in plain sight within an opening title sequence, always present and often seen but never known as the true weapon. To improve upon the "Final Destination" sequences, we as a group would like to mix the use of style shown within these sequences as well as showing real images and humans within our sequence to show the reality of what is happening within our opening title sequence, Unvirtuous.

Scream
The above clips show the three parts that make up the opening title sequence for the 1996 film "Scream". Having one of the longest opening title sequences in the horror genre, "Scream" allows for a story to develop with the female before the story is cut short with her death. We as a group like this opening title sequence because it shows a strong female presence in which we as a group would like to include within our opening title sequence, Unvirtuous. In addition to this, we enjoy the use of the death occurring off camera with the audience seeing only the dead body, once more we as a group would like to include thus type of element within our opening title sequence. This opening title sequence inspires us as it shows a storyline and a unique way of portraying a character, and the killer, in a different way than seen before suggesting that "Scream" challenges conventions as we would like to do with "Unvirtuous". Possessed Productions would improve upon this 1996 opening title sequence by developing a story within an opening title sequence using still images as well as moving film but as a whole we like the idea of having a character that is sociable and friendly that gets killed because we as a audience are left to wonder why.
In conclusion to this "Moving Image Inspiration" page, we as a group would like to pay homage to both the 1996 opening title sequence of "Scream" as well as the "Final Destination" series in which the first film aired in the year 2000. It is important for us as a group to challenge conventions within horror because we want to create a unique opening title sequence which challenges the audience as well as those conventions and so as well as paying homage to these sequences, we as a group we want to develop these ideas into something that enhances our ideas of what makes an opening title sequence both special and unique. Furthermore, these opening title sequences shows us what doesn't work within an opening title sequence within horror and so we can stay clear of these elements to ensure that we create an interesting and enticing sequence as well as one which is faultless.
