Shooting Schedule
When creating a film or an opening title sequence, it is vital that a schedule is drawn up with the dates and times in which you plan to film scenes within the opening title sequence. A shooting schedule firstly shows the date and time in which you filmed or planned to film a particular scene within the opening title sequence, after this comes the location. The location is stated to allow for all production crew and actors to know where the particular scene is being filmed, moreover this allows for ease of communication when changes occur. The props, costumes, equipment and crew needed are then suggested in order for organised preparation to take place therefore lowering the chance of mistakes.
Examples of shooting schedules:
After looking at the above examples of shooting schedules, we decided to set ours out like the one below as it is clear and easier to follow. The shooting schedule was a very important part of our filming process because we had to follow it and keep to it strictly in order to stay organised and on schedule. Falling behind would mean we were also behind on editing, which would result in us missing deadlines. The shooting schedule allowed us to film all of our scenes within the time we planned, which is why it is such a vital part of the filming process. The shooting schedule also allowed for us to be able to know exactly what we needed for each filming period which furthermore meant that we could rely on each other to bring what was necessary to each scene.
When looking at the template above reproduced from Aquinas College, it is clear to see that this shooting schedule template is one of great organisation. It allows for each element of each scene to be planned out vigorously allowing for the overall scene look to be professional and like that of a top end production company. Shooting schedules are the holy books of the production stage of filming, they must be followed word for word, letter for letter in order to create film footage that is credible and enticing because the ultimate goal of making films is profit. With great filming and acting comes profit in the box office but initially, at its source, the shooting schedule takes a big role in the filming stage of film production. Below is our updated version of the shooting schedule in which we have based out filming footage off of.
